Match Recap: Women's Tennis |

Women’s Tennis Falls at Saint Vincent

LATROBE, Pa. – The Geneva College women's tennis team dropped its match at Saint Vincent on Saturday afternoon, 2-7.  Saint Vincent improved to 2-4, 1-3 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), while Geneva dropped to 1-4, 1-4 in the PAC.

The Golden Tornadoes managed just four points in the three doubles matches as the women really struggled.  In singles action, freshman Delaney Winterhalter (Carnegie, Pa./South Fayette) won her match in #4 singles in three sets 6-3, 6-7, 11-9.  Senior Caleigh Pumphrey (Martinsburg, W.Va./Hedgesville) also added a victory in #5 singles 6-0, 7-5.

"We did not play our best tennis today," said Head Coach Mandee Craft.  "But Caleigh and Delaney came through with big wins, so we're excited for them."

Geneva will return to action on Wednesday when the Golden Tornadoes host last year's PAC Champions, Franciscan, at 6:00 p.m. on Blackhawk Courts.
