BEAVER FALLS, Pa. --- The Geneva men's soccer team clinched a spot in the President's Athletic Conference Playoffs with tonight's 3-0 win over Chatham on Senior Night.
After a scoreless first half that saw Chatham go a man down due to a red card, Caleb Chambers got Geneva on the board in the 50th minute when he headed the ball into the net to give the Golden Tornadoes a 1-0 lead. Chambers got the score on a pass from Kyle Lapoure off the corner kick by Wil Dunda.
Geneva continued to play aggressively throughout the second half. Noah Abdel-Nabi celebrated his Senior Night with a penalty kick in the 65th minute to push Geneva's lead to 2-0. It was Abdel-Nabi's first career goal.
Antonio Fiordilino added an insurance goal in the 78th minute on a pass from Lapoure, 3-0, as Geneva kept Chatham on its heels defensively for the remainder of the match.
Abdel-Nabi, Paul Peachey, Cole Sauer, and Gabriel Kemp were recognized during pre-game Senior Night ceremonies for their outstanding careers in the Old Gold & White.
The Golden Tornadoes (8-3-6, 5-1-3) wraps up regular season action on Wednesday, October 26 at PAC foe Waynesburg. Game time in Waynesburg is set for 8 p.m. The PAC Championship Tournament begins on Saturday, October 29.
