BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – Less than 24 hours after a nail-biting victory at Washington & Jefferson on Wednesday night, the Geneva College women's tennis team took the court again, hosting Saint Vincent. The quick turnaround was too much for the Golden Tornadoes to handle a talented Bearcat squad, and Saint Vincent left town with a 7-2 victory. Geneva dropped to 4-2 overall, 1-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), while Saint Vincent improved to 3-1, 3-1 in the PAC.
The match got off to a rough start when Saint Vincent took all three doubles matches, putting Geneva in a big hole.
In singles play, senior Laura Lin Comollo (Smyrna, Dela./Polytech) and freshman Jenna Allison (New Wilmington, Pa./Wilmington Area) earned Geneva's two points in #3 and #5 singles, respectively.
"I feel like we played our best tennis yesterday," said Head Coach Mandee Craft. "Today we didn't. That's the nature of sport. We'll come back Monday and hopefully show some of our best play again."
The schedule doesn't get any easier for the women. Geneva hosts Grove City on Monday, followed by a match at Franciscan on Wednesday.
