BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Geneva women's tennis team had a tough loss on Monday night, 8-1, against Grove City in Presidents' Athletic Conference action. The competition was moved indoors to the Brady's Run Tennis Courts due to rain in the area around the time of first serve.
Freshman
Lauren Estes earned the lone point for Geneva in a hard-fought match at No. 1 singles. Estes went to the tiebreaker in the second set to secure the impressive victory, 6-2, 7-6 (4). It is the first time since 1999 that a Golden Tornado has won the No. 1 singles flight against Grove City.
Geneva will take an eight-day break before returning to PAC competition on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at Franciscan. The Golden Tornadoes are now 4-3 overall and 1-3 in PAC play.
