GREENVILLE, Pa. – Geneva College sophomore Carmen Medvit (New Castle, Pa./Shenango) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week on Monday for her performance at the Lock Haven Invitational on Saturday. It's Medvit's second weekly award in just three weeks of competition for the Golden Tornadoes.
Medvit ran her best time of the season at the 6K event hosted by Lock Haven, finishing in 22nd place with a time of 22:16. Her time was the third best time of any NCAA Division III runner in the race, and the fastest of any PAC runner, which contained 285 runners from NCAA Division I, II and III. She led Geneva to a 16th place team finish out of the 34 schools at the competition.
Both the men and women's cross country teams are off this weekend before returning to action on Saturday, October 8, when the Golden Tornadoes compete at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational.
