Women’s Tennis Wraps up Season with Win over Mount Aloysius

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Geneva College women's tennis team wrapped up its season on Wednesday night with an 8-1 win over a short-handed Mount Aloysius squad.  The women complete the fall season with a 5-8 overall record.

The Mounties arrived with only four players, meaning Geneva got automatic wins in #3 doubles and #5 and #6 singles.  The Golden Tornadoes won the other two doubles matches.  Junior Delaney Winterhalter and sophomore Lauren Estes won 8-2 in #1 doubles, while senior Ella Miller and sophomore Jenna Allison also won 8-2 in #2 doubles.

In singles play, Estes earned a win in the top flight 6-0, 6-3.  Sophomore CeJaelyn defeated her opponent in #3 singles 6-4, 6-2, while freshman Paris Silverstein won 6-4, 6-1 in #4 singles.

"Both teams were short on our regular players, but we still had a good match," said Head Coach Mandee Craft.  "It's always nice to end the season with a win!"

The women will likely have a match or two in the spring, but tonight's match concludes the majority of the women's season.
