Women’s Tennis Uses Full Roster to Sweep La Roche

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Geneva College women's tennis team got back into the win column on Wednesday night against La Roche, using almost its full complement of players to sweep the Redhawks, 9-0.

Junior Delaney Winterhalter and sophomore Lauren Estes won their match in #1 doubles, 8-2.  Sophomores CeJaelyn Perednia and Jenna Allison swept their opponents in #2 doubles, 8-0, while sophomores Leah Gloster and Sarah Kelly won 8-2 in #3 doubles.

In singles play, Estes earned a 6-0, 6-1 win in #1 singles.  Freshman Rachel Hodsden swept her opponent 6-0, 6-0 in #2 singles, while freshman Isabel Kleiman almost did the same thing in #3 singles 6-0, 6-1.  Freshmen Caroline Reed and Emma Kline swept their opponents in #4 and #5 singles, respectively, while sophomores Abby Kehs won 6-1, 6-0 in #6 singles.

"It's always fun to get more players into the match," said Head Coach Mandee Craft.  "We had 11 players who contributed to tonight's win."

Geneva will return to action this Saturday for homecoming when the women host Penn State Behrend at 2:00 p.m.
