BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Geneva College women's team swept Waynesburg on a cool Monday evening at Blackhawk Courts, 9-0. The women celebrated their two seniors, Jessica Bout and Ella Miller, prior to the match, which was the final Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match of the season. Geneva is now 4-8 overall, 2-6 in the PAC.
The women cruised through the doubles portion of the match. Junior Delaney Winterhalter and sophomore Lauren Estes won in #1 doubles, 8-0. Miller and sophomore Jenna Allison won in #2 doubles, 8-1, while Bout and freshman Emma Kline took #3 doubles, 8-2.
In singles play, Estes swept her opponent in #1 singles 6-0, 6-0. Winterhalter won #2 singles 6-4, 6-0. Bout took #3 singles 6-1, 6-0, while Miller won #4 singles 6-2, 6-2. Sophomore CeJaelyn Perednia and Allison both swept their opponents in #5 and #6 singles, respectively, 6-0, 6-0.
"We have a few players struggling with illness right now, but fortunately our seniors felt good and we were able to celebrate them tonight," said Head Coach Mandee Craft. "The win was the icing on the cake."
The women will wrap up their fall season on Wednesday when they host Mount Aloysius at 6:00 p.m. on Blackhawk Courts.
