MCKEESPORT, Pa. – The Geneva College women's golf team defeated Carlow in a golf match between the schools on Thursday afternoon at Youghiogheny Country Club. The women defeated the Celtics 386-399
Sophomore Sabienea Winston again paced the Golden Tornadoes, carding a 90, tops among the players from either team. Junior Sarah Theus finished with a 97, sophomore Karlee Bittner shot a 99, and junior Hannah Therrell rounded out the top four for Geneva with a 100.
"Our women picked up a nice win today," said Head Coach Henry Kennedy. "Cold and rainy conditions seem to be the story of our spring so far this season, so for the women to play as well as they did today is really encouraging."
The women will enjoy over a week off before returning to action next Saturday, April 15, at the Westminster Invitational.
