Women’s Tennis Defeated by Saint Vincent

LATROBE, Pa. – The Geneva College women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision at Saint Vincent on Friday afternoon.  The loss drops the Golden Tornadoes to 2-3 on the season, 1-2 in Presidents' Athletic Conference play.

In doubles action, junior Delaney Winterhalter and sophomore Lauren Estes earned a good victory in #1 doubles, 8-6.  Saint Vincent won the other two matches in doubles play.

In singles play, Winterhalter picked up the only point for the Golden Tornadoes.  She was leading her match in #2 singles 7-5, 3-0, when her opponent retired.

"Saint Vincent was just solid all the way down their lineup," said Head Coach Mandee Craft.  "It wasn't our day today."

Thing get even tougher for the women on Monday when they host reigning PAC Champion Allegheny at 5:30 p.m. at Brady's Run Outdoor Courts.
