BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – Saturday was a successful day for the Geneva College men's and women's cross country teams, with several runners from each squad delivering personal best times at the Lock Haven Invitational. On Tuesday, two of those runners, junior Kevin Arseneaux and sophomore Hailey Carroll, were honored by both the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) and the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) as their Men's and Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week.
Arseneaux delivered a personal best time in the 8K race on Saturday, finishing in 24:39, over a minute faster than his previous personal best. That placed him 17th out of 477 runners, which included NCAA Division I, Division II and Division III runners.
Carroll was just as impressive in her performance on Saturday. She finished sixth out of 454 runners, finishing with a time of 21:13 in the 6K race. She was the top Division III finisher at the meet, finishing just ahead of sophomore teammate Carmen Medvit, who placed eighth overall. Carroll's time was two minutes faster than her previous best time.
Both the men and women will be off this week before heading to Slippery Rock for a meet on Saturday, October 7.
