TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Senior Kevin Arseneaux became the first Geneva men's cross country runner to qualify for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship race, which he competed in on Saturday in Terre Haute, Indiana. Arseneaux eventually finished in 238th place, out of 294 runners.
Arseneaux was running solidly in the early portions of the race, sitting in 119th place at the halfway mark of the 8K course. Unfortunately, he couldn't maintain that spot and eventually finished with a time of 26:02.
The race was the last cross country race of Arseneaux's standout cross country career and adds to his list of accomplishments, which includes winning Geneva's first individual men's conference title, which we accomplished last year at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships. Arseneaux will now turn his attention to track and field where he already holds multiple Geneva records.
