MARIETTA, Ohio – The Geneva College women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision at Marietta on Saturday evening.
The Pioneers took control of the match with three goals in the first half, coming all in a ten-minute stretch midway through the half. Marietta scored in the 15th, 18th and 25th minutes to jump ahead 3-0 heading into the halftime break. That ten-minute stretch was really the difference in the game.
The second half was a more even affair, but Geneva could never find the back of the net before eventually falling, 3-0.
Marietta finished the game with a 19-6 advantage in shots, though most of that edge was from the first half. Senior goalkeeper Jade Farnsworth made eight saves in the match.
The women will have a little bit of a break before they head to Heidelberg next Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
