YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Geneva College men's and women's cross country teams were back in action on Saturday after a week break, competing at the Youngstown State Inaugural Alumni Cross Country Meet. A limited number of Golden Tornadoes raced at the meet, which contained multiple Division I, II, and III schools at the competition.
On the women's side, graduate student Catherine O'Donnell led Geneva with a time of 20:11 in the 5K race, which placed her 31st overall. Senior Madison Castro wasn't far behind O'Donnell, finishing with a time of 20:33, good for 41st place. Freshman Audrey McAlister finished with a time of 21:39, while freshman Sienna Jackson was next for Geneva with a time of 21:53. Sophomore Lydia Nagel rounded out the top five with a time of 23:13.
For the men, junior Archie McKissick was Geneva's top finisher in the 8K race, placing 75th with a time of 30:24. Freshman Connor Miller was next with a time of 30:36, followed by freshmen Isaac Burden with a time of 30:57. Freshman Lukas Mashuda (31:03) and sophomore Josiah Hansford (32:17) rounded out the top five finishers for the Golden Tornadoes.
Both the men and women's cross country teams will be off this week before returning to action on Saturday, October 5, with a meet at Lehigh.
