NEW CASTLE, Pa. – The Geneva College men's cross country team put together an impressive performance on Saturday morning at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Preview Invitational, with five runners finishing among the top eleven, led by senior Kevin Arseneaux's second-place finish. The event, held at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds, is a preview of the PAC Championship race, which will be held on the same course in about two months. Almost every school in the PAC besides Allegheny competed at the event. Geneva's 35 points was almost 30 points ahead of any other school.
Arseneaux ran another great race, just getting edged out at the tape by Saint Vincent's Tim Patterson by a second, finishing the 8K race in 25:59.27. Those two runners were 40 seconds ahead of everyone else.
Junior Eli Eisenberger was second for Geneva, placing sixth overall with a time of 27:01.88. Freshman Ethan Haring was right behind Eisenberger, placing seventh with a time of 27:11.34. Junior Karter Reath wasn't far behind Haring, placing ninth with a time of 27:19.41. Junior Benjamin Perka was the fifth finisher for Geneva, coming in 11th in a time of 27:28.94.
Both the women's and men's cross country teams will be off next before traveling to Youngstown State on Saturday, September 21, for a meet.
