NEW CASTLE, Pa. – The Geneva College women's cross country team participated in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Preview event on Saturday morning, hosted at the Lawrence Country Fairgrounds. Graduate student Catherine O'Donnell led the women with a seventh-place finish. The meet is a preview of the PAC Championship race that will be held at the end of the season on the same course. The women finished fourth out of the nine PAC schools at the event.
The women were running without their top two runners, junior Hailey Carroll and Carmen Medvit, who are nursing their way back from injuries. O'Donnell helped pick up the slack with the top finish in her career, finishing the 6K race with a time of 24:37.39. Senior Madison Castro wasn't far behind, finishing 11th overall with a time of 24:53.03.
Freshman Audrey McAlister just missed a top 20 finish, placing 21st with a time of 25:51.15. Freshman Sienna Jackson (26:18.40) and sophomore Lydia Nagel (26:40.66) rounded out the top five runners for Geneva.
Both the women's and men's cross country teams will be off next week before traveling to Youngstown State on Saturday, September 21, for a meet.
