OBERLIN, Ohio – The Geneva women's cross country team competed in the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble on Saturday morning, putting together a solid performance as a team by taking fifth place in a field featuring 25 different schools. Senior
Hailey Carroll was the top finisher for the women, taking second place overall at the race, while fellow senior
Carmen Medvit finished just behind her in fourth place.
Carroll finished with a time of 21:46.0, her best mark of the season. Medvit also posted her best time of the year, completing the race in 21:51.9. The Golden Tornadoes were the only team to place two runners in the top ten overall out of the 213-runner pool.
Sophomore
Audrey McAlister finished third for the women, taking 31
st place with a time of 23:39.1. Behind her were freshman
Nicole Ochs (24:33.0) and sophomore
Sienna Jackson (24.47.7) to round out the top five for Geneva.
It was the final race before the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships for the Golden Tornadoes, who seem well prepared leading up to the title meet. Out of the seven PAC schools represented at Oberlin, the women finished second. The PAC Championships will be held in Meadville, PA, on November 1
st, with the starting gun going off at noon.
