LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Geneva women's cross country team traveled down to Louisville to compete in the Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic this weekend, coming out of the race with a 13
th place finish as a team and two top 10 finishers overall. Seniors
Hailey Carroll and
Carmen Medvit took ninth and tenth place overall, respectively, out of a pool of 416 runners from all levels of the NCAA.
Carroll finished the 6k race with a time of 21:50.4, and Medvit was right behind her with a 21:52.8 mark. Those times were the third- and fourth-best out of any Division III runner present. Carroll's time is 5th all-time in program history, while Medvit's is seventh in program history.
Sophomore
Audrey McAlister was the next-best runner for the women, running a 23:27.1 to come in 80
th place on the overall board. Freshmen
Molly Husted and
Nicole Ochs were the fourth and fifth finishers for Geneva, recording times of 24:59.0 and 25:09.0 to finish 197
th and 211
th, respectively.
The GTs have just one more meet scheduled before the PAC Championships in early November. They will head to Oberlin, Ohio on October 18
th to participate in the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble.
