BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – Geneva College senior women's basketball player Emily Garvin added a national award to her weekly collection on Tuesday when she was named to the D3Hoops.com Team of the Week, which honors the top five players from Division III over the past week. This is her second weekly award after being named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.
Tuesday's award marks the second straight season that a Geneva women's basketball player has been honored by the D3Hoops.com national organization after Mackenzie Barricklow received the honor at the end of last year. Barricklow and Garvin are the only two Geneva women's players to receive this honor since Geneva moved to Division III in 2011.
Garvin led the women to two wins last week at Kenyon and at home against Wooster. She averaged 23.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 3.5 steals while shooting 58.6% from the floor and 92.3% from the foul line.
