CANTON, Ohio – The Geneva College women's lacrosse team made the trip west to take on NCAA Division II Malone on Tuesday afternoon, and the Golden Tornadoes battled all match before falling 17-3.

Early in the second quarter, freshman Taylor Robinson tallied her first collegiate goal on a free position attempt. Malone scored the final six goals of the half, though, to take a 12-2 lead into the break.
Gillette found the net again in the third quarter on a free position shot, which proved to be the final goal for the Golden Tornadoes in the loss.
Gillette led the offense with three shots, two goals and three draw controls. Robinson finished with a goal on two shots, two ground balls, two draw controls and one caused turnover. Junior Hannah Skwarek totaled five grounds balls, three caused turnovers and two draw controls, while freshman Tirzah George managed two ground balls and two caused turnovers. Freshman Lexi Lee made nine saves in goal.
