BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – On a bright but chilly early-spring afternoon, the Geneva women's lacrosse team took on Thiel College, losing to the Tomcats 19-0. The Thiel offense proved to be too high-powered for the women as the GTs continue to look for their first-ever program victory here in their inaugural season, falling to 0-11 on the year. Thiel, on the other hand, continued their success, moving up to 9-2 overall with the win 3-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC).
The Tomcats scored four times in the first four minutes of the match to gain control of the match early, and the women could not respond. Thiel was strong on the draw control all afternoon, making it difficult for the women to gain much momentum offensively. Although Geneva generated four shots on goal throughout the match, the Thiel goalkeeper managed to keep in front of them all, and Thiel came away with the victory, 19-0.
