ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Geneva College track and field season officially came to an end on Thursday as a few Golden Tornadoes took one last chance to compete on Thursday at the Mount Union Last Chance Meet in hopes of improving their times and putting themselves in position to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships next week. Despite some good performances, no one was able to advance on to the championships.
Senior Kevin Arseneaux had the best chance to achieve a qualifying time in the 1500-meter race. He won the race, but his time of 3:52.30 came up just a couple seconds short of making the mark for the Division III championships, bringing an end to his tremendous Geneva career.
Graduate student Jack Garvin and sophomore Katelyn Mathews each competed in the high jump. Garvin cleared 1.95 meters, while Mathews cleared 1.49 meters.
Senior Desmond Lewis competed in the 200-meters, finishing in a time of 22.97 seconds. Junior Carmen Medvit and freshman Audrey McAlister each ran in the 5000-meter race. Medvit won the race in a time of 18:03.11, while McAlister finished third in a time of 20:03.84.
