Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women Can’t Get Much Going at Mount Union

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Geneva College women's soccer team's early-season offensive struggles continued at Mount Union on Wednesday evening, with a strong Raiders squad defeating Geneva 2-0.  Geneva dropped to 1-2-2 on the year.

Things started off poorly for the Golden Tornadoes when less than three minutes into the match, Mount Union found the back of the net to put Geneva into a quick hole.

Geneva's defense, which has played excellently all year, kept the women in the game, as Mount Union held most of the possession and generated a number of shots.  The Golden Tornadoes struggled to put much pressure on the Mount Union defense for most of the night, and the Raiders put the game away in the 83rd minute with a second goal, finishing off the scoring.

Freshman goalkeeper Natalie Foster had another strong match, making eight saves to keep Geneva in the game for most of the night.

The women face another challenge on Saturday as the Golden Tornadoes head to Kenyon for a 1:00 p.m. match.
