BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Geneva women's soccer team had one of its players win a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) weekly award for the first time this season on Monday afternoon. Freshman
Hannah Hido, who was a key contributor for the Golden Tornadoes in their two wins last week, was named the PAC Newcomer of the Week after notching a goal and two assists this past weekend.
Hido led the way for the GTs in their 5-0 win over Bethany on Saturday, starting things off by scoring what turned out to be the game-winning goal in the 25
th minute off of a nice through ball from junior
Rebekah Dick. She then assisted on two other goals over the course of the match, finding freshman
Mackenzie Kubistek via a ground cross from the end line into the middle of the Bison box before assisting on freshman
Brianne Casto's goal later in the match. Combining her performance on Saturday with her stats from Geneva's 2-0 win over Thiel earlier in the week, Hido finished the week with a goal and two assists on seven shots, placing four shots on target.
For the season, Hido now has three assists, most on the team, as well as two goals. She has been one of Geneva's main threats at the top of the formation throughout her freshman year.
Hido and the rest of the women's soccer team are set to host Franciscan University on Tuesday, October 20, at 7:00 p.m., and will then take on Chatham the following Saturday for their Senior Day contest.
