GREENWOOD, Ind. – Six women on the Geneva track and field team were honored by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday as Academic All-District selections.  Seniors Hailey Carroll and Carmen Medvit, junior Kaelyn Hartman, and sophomores Kyla Parks, Olivia Seetoo and Sara Vos all received this honor.  In fact, a tremendous 12 different women met the qualifications for all-district honors, but a maximum of six were chosen by the CSC.

To receive this distinction, a student-athlete much be at least a sophomore academically, maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5, and have finished in the top 50 in the region in the cross country or indoor or outdoor track and field seasons.

Carroll finished 10^th in the region in the cross country season, while in the indoor track and field season she placed fourth in the 800-meters, fifth in the mile and fifth in the 3000-meters.  In the outdoor season, she finished seventh in the region in the 1500-meters, 16^th in the 800-meters and 24^th in the 5000-meters.  This is the second straight year Carroll has received this honor.

Medvit placed eighth in the region in the cross country season, while in the indoor season she finished 15^th in both the 3000-meters and 5000-meters, along with placing 28^th in the mile.  In the outdoor season, she placed eighth in the region in the 10000-meters, 10^th in the 5000-meters and 34^th in the 1500-meters.  This is the third straight year she has received this distinction.

Hartman qualified by placing 15^th in the triple jump and 32^nd in the long jump during the indoor season, while placing 15^th in the triple jump and 20^th in the long jump during the outdoor season.  This is the second straight year she has been honored on the all-district team.

Parks qualified by placing 14^th in the weight throw and 24^th in shot put during the indoor season, while placing 38^th in the region in the discus, 44^th in the shot put and 45^th in the hammer throw during the outdoor season.

Seetoo earned the honor by placing 15^th in the high jump in the indoor season, while placing 10^th in the high jump and 44^th in the 400-meter hurdles during the outdoor season.

Vos qualified by placing 19^th in the 200-meters and 21^st in the 60-meters in the region during the indoor season, while placing 23^rd in the 100-meters, 38^th in the 200-meters and 46^th in the 400-meters during the outdoor season.

In addition, senior Emily Garvin (javelin), juniors Brooklen Helton (800-meters), Katelyn Mathews (high jump) and Lydia Nagel (3000-meter steeplechase), and sophomores Audrey McAlister (cross country, 5000-meters and 10000-meters) and Emma Thellman (pole vault), also qualified academically and athletically for this honor.
