Sharek Leads Women at Westminster as Fall Sports Begin

NEW CASTLE, Pa. – The Geneva athletic fall season officially kicked off on Saturday as the women's golf team competed at the Westminster Fall Invitational, hosted at the Avalon Field Club.  Junior Madison Sharek picked up where she left off last season by leading the women, with six schools and over 30 golfers competing.

Sharek finished in a tie for third overall, carding an 85, including one birdie on the par four, 14th hole.  Senior Gracie Schlosser and junior Kate Kingswood also participated for the Golden Tornadoes, making their collegiate golfing debut.

Sharek will return to action next Thursday, competing at the California (PA) Vulcan Invitational, while the rest of the squad will next get back on the course on Tuesday, September 8, at the Waynesburg Jacket Tri-Valley Classic.
