Saint Francis Proves Too Strong for Women’s Tennis

LORETTO, Pa. – The Geneva women's tennis team traveled east to Saint Francis University on Friday evening, facing off against a Red Wolves team that just began the transition process from NCAA Division I. A quality team even at the Division I level, Saint Francis defeated the Golden Tornadoes 7-0, sending the women to 0-2 on the season, 0-1 in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play.

The Red Wolves controlled virtually every match in Friday's contest, with the Golden Tornadoes getting their best performance of the day from junior Chloe DeSanzo in No. 1 singles. She lost her match 6-1, 6-3, and was the only Geneva player to score at least three points in a set.

Things don't get any easier for the GTs, as they travel to Allegheny College next for a contest with the perennial PAC powerhouse Gators on Wednesday, September 16. That match will begin at 4:30 p.m.
