MEADVILLE, Pa. – It was a frustrating night for the Geneva men's soccer team, who outshot Allegheny in their match with the Gators but wound up losing 1-0 after conceding a first-half goal. It was the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opener for both schools and was just the fourth match Geneva has played this season after the GTs had two contests canceled last week due to weather. Geneva's overall record falls to 1-2-1 with the loss, while Allegheny moves up to 2-4.

Landon Bronson got a head to a corner kick, but he pushed the shot high of the crossbar. Allegheny took the lead in the 30
th minute on a nice shot from distance, gaining a 1-0 advantage that they would not give up.
Geneva placed four shots on goal in the match, and all came in the final 32 minutes of the second half. Sophomore
Logan Pappert had a few decent looks, but nothing came terribly close to beating the Allegheny keeper as the score remained where it was for the rest of the contest.
The GTs outshot their opponents 17-11 in the match, including a slight edge in shots on target, 4-3. Pappert finished with five total shots, putting two on goal.
The men head to Waynesburg for their next match, which is set for this Saturday, September 19, at 4:00 p.m. They then return home for a contest with Hiram the following Wednesday.
