BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – It's been quite the start to the season for junior women's tennis player Chloe DeSanzo. After knocking off the reigning Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Player of the Year last week at Allegheny, DeSanzo was impressive again on Saturday afternoon in a 6-1 loss to Grove City at Blackhawk Courts.
DeSanzo is establishing herself as not only potentially the top player in the conference, but also one of the strongest players in program history. Last year against Grove City's top player Grace Stitt, a First Team All-PAC performer, DeSanzo won in a tight match that went three sets. On Saturday, DeSanzo was dominant in No. 1 singles, winning 6-0, 6-1, giving DeSanzo another impressive victory to add to her list. DeSanzo also paired with senior Rachel Hodsden in No. 1 doubles to win 7-5.
Unfortunately, Geneva could not find any more success in the other singles or doubles matches, with the Wolverines winning the rest to finish off the match.
The women will wrap up their five-match homestand next Tuesday when they host Thiel on Blackhawk Courts at 6:00 p.m.
