BELLE VERNON, Pa. – Junior Madison Sharek competed on Thursday and Friday at the California (PA) Vulcan Invitational against primarily Division II golfers, and she fared quite well by finishing in a tie for 21st, out of 88 golfers at the event.
Sharek opened the tournament on Thursday by carding an 83 over 18 holes. She followed that up on Friday by shooting an 81, giving her a two-day total of 164. The tournament was originally scheduled to play three rounds of golf, with two occurring on Friday, but the final round was canceled due to rain delays over the two days.
Sharek and her teammates will return to action next Tuesday, September 8, when the squad competes in the Waynesburg Jacket Tri-Valley Classic, hosted at the Greene County Country Club.
