Our Sports Medicine Staff would like to welcome you to our campus for your upcoming athletic contest. Our athletic training facility is located on the bottom floor of Metheny Fieldhouse.
Visiting Football Teams
Football games on Geneva’s campus take place at beautiful Reeves Field. This first-class facility has a field turf playing surface that was replaced in 2018. The visiting football locker room is located on the back side of the building and has a separate entrance. Inside the locker room your team will be provided the following:
- A taping station with two taping tables
- 10 gallons of water and cups
- A large cooler of ice. Ice bags and wrap also provided.
- Moist heat – Small hydrocollator and terry cloths
For each game, the visiting sideline will have the following items:
- At least 30 gallons of water
- Ice chest with ice bags
- Cups
- Biohazard waste disposal
- A portable treatment table
During football games, the team physician and an ambulance will be on the sideline to assist you should a situation arise.
All Other Sports:
The athletic training staff will be available two hours prior to a game. Please email
cmlongst@geneva.edu with any needs your team may have prior to competition. Due to CoVID-19 precautions, NO visiting teams will be allowed in the athletic training room. Instead, an athletic trainer will meet you in your locker room, on the court, or on the field to deliver pre-game treatment/taping. Water and ice will be provided on the sideline of every competition.
The following emergency equipment will be available upon request/need during a competition:
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Spine board & neck immobilizer
- Crutches
- Vacuum & Sam splints
- First-aid supplies and sundry items
- Taping & treatment tables
If your athletes require some form of treatment prior to playing and a certified athletic trainer is not traveling with the team, please provide a letter from your office regarding what treatment is to be provided. Also, please let us know in advance what arrangements we need to make to accommodate your team. If your athletes need to be taped prior to their game, please provide a stocked athletic training kit with necessary supplies.
