Men’s Golf Edged by Grove City

ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. – The Geneva College men's golf team dropped a tight match with Grove City on Monday afternoon at Connoquenessing Country Club, losing 340-342.  Grove City's Aidan Allen was the medalist at the match with a 75.

Sophomore Jacob DeLisio (New Brighton, Pa./New Brighton) led the Golden Tornadoes, finishing with an 82.  Freshman Parker Cera (Titusville, Fla./Titusville) carded an 85, with freshman Michael DeMiere (Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) right behind with an 86.  Freshman Joshua Hido (Kent, Ohio/Theodore Roosevelt) finished out the top four Geneva placers, shooting an 89.  Senior Trent Belleville (Washington, Pa./McGuffey) shot a 93.

"The course played tough today, but we must play better at our home course," said Head Coach Andrew Fee.  "Losing by two strokes hurts, but it provides a good opportunity for everyone to self-reflect on some strokes they left out on the course.  If we refine our game and quit taking high numbers on holes, we will be fine."

The men will be off for the next week before they head to Westminster next Monday, October 4, for their last meet before the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships begin on October 13.
