LORETTO, Pa. – The Geneva College cross country teams opened the 2022 season at the Father Bede Invitational hosted by St. Francis. The men's team finished fourth, while the women's team placed sixth against the field full of Division I programs.
"This was a great start to the season," said Golden Tornadoes head coach
Phil Thompson. "Going up against all DI programs, we competed hard today."
Sophomore
Kevin Arseneaux was the top finisher for the men in 10
th place. He ran a time of 19:43 in the 6-kilometer race. Geneva also packed up five spots between 21
st and 29
th place to push the team into fourth place.

Eli Eisenberger, and
Josiah Helmer went 21, 25, 26, 27, and 29. I'm really looking forward to seeing what this group can accomplish this season."
Sophomore
Carmen Medvit led the women's squad with a fourth-place finish. She ran 19:20 over the 5-kilometer race. Medvit ran a relaxed first mile and moved up from sixth to fourth place over the last mile of the race.
"I am pleased with the women's team. We were missing three of our top five runners, but the women stepped up and we had a great first meet.
"I am looking forward to next week when we have the whole squad back together. This team is ready to make a push in conference action."
Geneva returns to action on Friday, Sept. 9 at 6:30 p.m. when the Golden Tornadoes compete at the Saint Vincent Invitational.
