Throwers Have Strong Day at Muskingum

NEW CONCORD, Ohio – A smaller group of the Geneva College men's and women's track teams competed at Muskingum on Friday, and the Golden Tornado throwers highlighted the day for Geneva.

Freshman Allison Standish brought home two top-three finishes, placing third in the weight throw with a toss of 13.05 meters, while she also placed third in the shot put with a throw of 10.72 meters.

For the men, junior Noah Foust finished third in the shot put with a toss of 13.74 meters, while senior Giovanni Segura was right behind in fourth place with an effort of 13.70 meters.  Foust also placed fifth in the weight throw with a toss of 13.83 meters, while Segura was again right behind in sixth place with a throw of 13.39 meters.

The top finisher for the day was freshman Karter Reath, who won the 3000-meter race with a time of 9:31.72, while sophomore Amari Andrews finished third in the 200-meter dash with at time of 24.06 seconds.

In addition to those two, sophomore Eric Hardman placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.24 seconds, with sophomore Brian Cline right behind with a time of 9.25 seconds.  Hardman also placed fourth in the 400-meter race with a time of 55.24 seconds, with freshman Alec McCready right behind with a time of 55.25 seconds.

Geneva will now look ahead to the Presidents' Athletic Conference Indoor Championships next Thursday, hosted at Youngstown State University.  Start time is 1:00 p.m.
