YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio --- The Geneva men's track & field team earned a runner-up finish with 106 points at the 2023 Presidents Athletics Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday. Sophomore
Kevin Arseneaux was named the Men's Most Valuable Performer and was the top point scorer of the meet among runners with 28 points.
Arseneaux won the 800 Meter Run and 1 Mile Run in PAC championship meet record times. He posted a time of 1:53.67 in the 800, also a Geneva record, and 4:14.17 in the Mile. Arseneaux also finished second in the 3,000 Meter race with a time of 8:45.92.
Senior
Jack Garvin won the first field event of the day with a leap of 1.93 meters to win the High Jump. Freshman
Aiden Rorick finished second in the event with a jump of 1.90 meters and seventh in the Triple Jump with a distance of 12.06 meters.
Junior
Josh Blessing finished second in the Long Jump in 6.56 meters and picked up points in two sprint events. Blessing was the first Golden Tornado across the finish line in the 60 Meter Dash in 7.12 seconds for fourth place. Sophomore
Gabe Trexler placed fifth in the 60M at 7.16, followed by sophomore Dez Lewis in sixth place at 7.17 seconds. Lewis and Blessing also took sixth and seventh places, respectively, in the 200 Meter Dash with times of 22.60 and 22.69 seconds.
Sophomore Noah Faust and senior
Giovanni Segura placed third and fourth in the shot put with throws of 14.18 meters and 14.01 meters, respectively. They reversed spots in the weight throw. Segura threw for 14.24 meters in third place and Foust was fourth at 13.96 meters.
Sophomore
Eric Hardman picked up points for Geneva with a seventh-place finish in the 60 Meter Hurdles with a time of 9.05 seconds. Freshman
David Kondraciuk placed seventh in the 400 Meter Run in 51.48 seconds.
The Distance Medley Relay team of Josh Bout,
Benjamin Perka,
Archie McKissick and
Chris Viveros placed sixth win a time of 11:13.34. The 4x400 Meter Relay team of Lewis,
Alec McCready, Kondraciuk and Blessing finished the evening in fifth place in a time of 3:32.05.
NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held on March 10-11 in Birmingham, Alabama.
