WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. --- Geneva's time at the Tim Weaver Track & Field Invitational was shortened on Saturday due to high winds and weather.
But before weather stopped the meet, several student-athletes were able to compete.
On the men's side,
Joshua Bout and
Josh Lamey placed seventh and eighth in the 10,000 Meter Run with times of 36:15.40 and 36:16.85.
Josh Blessing and
Desmond Lewis had qualified for the 100 Meter Dash finals with a fifth (11.58) and eighth (11.76) place finish, respectively, in the preliminary heats.
For the women, Jaci Mennetti and Lia Vastano finished second and third in the 10,000 Meter Run with times of 42:20.42 and 49:41.95, respectively. Naomi Swartzbaugh placed fourth in the 100 Meter Hurdles preliminaries with a time of 17.07. Emma Parnell was seventh in the Long Jump with a leap of 4.85 meters.
Up next for Geneva is the Westminster Invitational on April 7-8.
