MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Geneva College men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up the first day of competition at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Outdoor Championships on Thursday at West Virginia University. The bulk of the championships will occur on Friday.
Freshman
Emma Parnell brought home the highest finish on the day consisting primarily of field events, placing second in the triple jump with a distance of 10.84 meters. Freshman
Ellie Bates also placed in the event, finishing seventh with a jump of 10.10 meters.
Freshman
Carmen Medvit finished fourth in the 10,000-meter race, finishing with a time of 37:54.82. Senior
Naomi Swartzbaugh qualified for the finals on the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.84 seconds.
For the men, senior
Jack Garvin threw a personal-best in the javelin, placing fifth with a throw of 52.75 meters. Freshman
Eli Eisenberger also scored points with an eighth-place finish in the 10,000-meter race with a time of 33:47.17.
In the 100-meter dash, senior
Josh Blessing ran a personal-best time of 10.97 seconds, qualifying for the finals with the second-fastest time. Sophomore
Desmond Lewis also qualified for the finals tomorrow with a time of 11.23 seconds. In the 110-meter hurdles, sophomore
Eric Hardman qualified for the finals tomorrow with a time of 16.31 seconds.
The final day of the PAC Championships begins tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
