BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – Senior Jack Garvin's first-place finish in the high jump on Saturday highlighted several strong performances for the men's and women's Geneva College track and field teams on Saturday at the Westminster Invitational.
Garvin continued his strong high jumping season by clearing an outdoor season-best of 1.95 meters. He narrowly missed clearing 2.0 meters.
In addition to Garvin, freshman Karter Reath finished second in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:07.83. Geneva's 4x100m relay team of senior Josh Blessing and sophomores Amari Andrews, Desmond Lewis and Gabe Trexler finished second with a time of 43.27 seconds. Foust also delivered a strong performance in the shot put, finishing fifth with a toss of 14.56 meters. Freshman David Kondraciuk earned a sixth-place finish in the 400-meters with a time of 51.92 seconds.
Freshman Emma Parnell highlighted the women's performers with a personal-best jump in the triple jump of 11.16 meters, just shy of the school record. That effort earned her third place.
