ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. – The Geneva men's golf team took the course for the first time this semester on Monday by hosting the Geneva Spring Opener at Connoquenessing Country Club against Grove City.
Geneva had 12 golfers competing on Monday, with two teams and two individuals playing together. Geneva's top team finished with a team score of 338. Grove City won with a team score of 319.
Junior Joshua Hido was the top performer for the Golden Tornadoes, carding an 81, tied for third among the 17 golfers at the meet. Junior Michael DeMiere and freshman Ethan Henry tied for fifth by each carding an 84. Sophomore Austin Goehring shot an 85, freshman Ryan Edwards carded an 86, and junior Timothy Ehko finished with an 88.
The men were scheduled to return to the course on Thursday at Carlow, but that match has been canceled. Geneva is scheduled for its next round on Monday, April 1, when the men play at Seven Oaks.
