BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) aired their postseason awards show on the PAC Sports Network Wednesday evening, and the Geneva men's soccer program had four players receive all-conference recognition. Senior
Wil Dunda, a member of the All-PAC First Team for the last two seasons, received his third consecutive First Team award to lead the way for the men. Freshman forward
Msafiri Amisi was named a Second Team All-PAC honoree, and the men also had two defenders receive Honorable Mention All-PAC recognition in senior
Mike Rogers and freshman
Logan Pappert.
Dunda, a four-year starter for the Golden Tornadoes, led the team with seven goals this year, including game-winning goals against both W&J and Waynesburg, the latter of which allowed Geneva to clinch a playoff spot for the seventh consecutive season. He also recorded five assists on the year, and he finishes his career tied for third on the Golden Tornadoes' all-time assists chart with 25 assists.
Amisi leapt onto the scene in his freshman season, finishing the year with three goals and a team-leading eight assists. His speed and strength were a huge asset for the men in the attack and he became one of their top players down the stretch. He posted 10 points over Geneva's final eight matches, registering three goals and four assists during that span.
Rogers and Pappert were the final two All-PAC honorees for the men. Rogers made the switch to center back midway through the season due to some injuries and proved to be very reliable at that spot, with head coach
Gary Dunda opting to leave him in defense as the fall progressed. Both he and Pappert finished first and second in minutes played, respectively, and were key members of the Geneva defense. As a freshman, Pappert immediately came in and earned the starting right back spot, holding it all the way through the season as he showed poise with the ball at his feet.
Sophomore
Luke Main was also honored by the conference on Wednesday, being named to the PAC Sportsmanship Team. Main started all but one of Geneva's 19 matches this season, scoring one goal and assisting on two more.
