GREENWOOD, Ind. – Seniors Mike Rogers and Jeremy Thompson, along with sophomore Luke Main, were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selections for their performance both on the field and in the classroom.
To be eligible for the academic all-district team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and hold a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50. The student-athletes must also have played in at least 90 percent of their team's games or been a starter in at least 66 percent of contests.
Rogers is a civil engineering major who started all four years for the men's soccer team, playing the most minutes of any Golden Tornado over the last three seasons. After playing primarily in the midfield the past three years, this season he was moved to central defense where he earned All-PAC honors while starting all 19 games for the men.
Thompson is majoring in Data Science and Psychology and this season played in all 19 games, starting 17. He also made the transition from midfield to defense this year, playing as an outside back.
Main, a business major, emerged this year in his second season with the program as a key starter in Geneva's midfield. He appeared in all 19 matches, starting 18, while scoring once and assisting on two other goals. He was also named to the PAC Sportsmanship Team.
