LEWISBURG, Pa. – While most of the Geneva College track and field team competed at Westminster on Saturday, three Golden Tornadoes, senior Kevin Arseneaux and juniors Carmen Medvit and Karter Reath traveled to Bucknell to compete in the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic, competing against primarily Division I and II runners. Medvit highlighted the event by smashing her own school record in the 5000-meters.
Medvit finished the 5000-meter race in 17:14.83, cutting more than 22 seconds off her prior school record in the event, set two years ago. She finished 44th out of 103 runners. Medvit ran in the invite division, which consisted of primarily Division I and II runners, along with the top runners in Division III.
Arseneaux ran a great time in the 1500-meter race, finishing ninth overall, out of 82 runners in the invite division, with a time of 3:50.61. Almost every runner ahead of him was a Division I runner, and he was the top finisher of the limited Division III runners in the race.
Reath posted a great time in the 3000-meter steeplechase, finishing with a time of 9:28.41, just missing out on the school record by .3 seconds. His time placed him 29th out of 60 runners, with primarily Division I and II runners ahead of him.
