BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – Geneva College senior wide receiver
Keaton Baker had a historic day on Saturday in the Golden Tornadoes 55-35 victory over Saint Vincent to open Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play, and on Tuesday he was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week as one of the top performers last week in all of Division III.
Baker set a new school record with 282 yards receiving, while also matching the school record with four touchdown catches among his 12 receptions. He caught touchdown passes of 75 yards, 44 yards, 33 yards and 5 yards as the Bearcats had no answers for Baker or the Golden Tornado passing attack.
Baker is now up to 19 receptions this year for 382 yards and six touchdowns, in just three games. While it's still early, he has a shot to become Geneva's first 1,000-yard receiver since Mike Holaren set the school record in 1998 with 1,529 receiving yards.
Baker is the first Golden Tornado since Kaden Romero in 2021 to be honored on the D3football.com Team of the Week.
