BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – Following a strong performance on Geneva's defensive line over the weekend, junior
Coltin Hill was recognized by the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) as the organization's Defensive Player of the Week. The Golden Tornadoes defeated the Gators 28-16 on Saturday, and Hill's tremendous effort highlighted a season-best performance from the Golden Tornado defense.
Hill was a force to be reckoned with against Allegheny, breaking through the Gators offensive line time and again over the course of the afternoon. He finished the game with eight total tackles, including five solo stops, and 3.5 tackles for loss resulting in 12 yards lost for Allegheny. Included in those 3.5 tackles for loss were two sacks for a combined ten yards, both coming on third downs. It was the first multi-sack game of Hill's career. He also posted a pass break-up in the win.
The Golden Tornadoes return home this week for a matchup with Grove City on Saturday, October 4
th. Geneva is riding a two-game winning streak to start PAC play, while Grove City will come in following a big loss to W&J. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:35 p.m., with the game being broadcast on KDKA.
