BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – Geneva men's volleyball sophomore
Christian Parks was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Defensive Player of the Week when the organization released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon. It is the second time this season that Parks has received the honor, and it comes after an impressive performance on Friday in Geneva's sweep of Bethany.
Parks began the week with a nine-dig effort in Geneva's three-set loss to Saint Vincent. Then, on the Golden Tornadoes' Senior Night, he recorded 21 digs in just three sets as Geneva swept Bethany. Thos 21 digs are the eighth-most in a match in program history, a feat made even more impressive by the fact that Parks did it in in three sets. He is now second in the PAC in digs per set, averaging 2.85 for the season.
The Golden Tornadoes have just one regular season match remaining, a road contest at Hiram on Wednesday, April 1. After that, the men will turn their attention to the playoffs, which begin next week.
