Alexander Named Field Athlete of the Week

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – After breaking her own school record in the high jump over the weekend, junior Daphne Alexander was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday when the organization released its weekly awards. It is the second time this season that Alexander has won the award.

Alexander continued her incredible performance this outdoor season by clearing 1.70 meters at Baldwin Wallace's Sparky Adams Invitational this past Saturday. That mark placed her second overall in the event, behind only a Division I jumper from Akron. Her jump was not only the top effort this season in the PAC and the Mid-Atlantic Region but is also tied for the sixth-best jump in all of NCAA Division III this year, giving her an excellent shot to qualify for the Division III National Championship Meet.

Both the women's and men's track and field teams are preparing for their final meet before the PAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships next week. They will compete one more time before then, at Allegheny's Mary Goldberg Gator Invitational this Friday, April 24.
