LA CROSSE, Wisc. – Junior Daphne Alexander wrapped up her standout season on Friday afternoon, competing in the high jump event at the NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships, clearing one height and finishing 17th overall. The championships were hosted at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
The opening height was 1.59 meters, and Alexander cleared that height on her first jump, with 20 of the 22 jumpers clearing the opening height. Alexander, who came into the meet with a season best jump of 1.70 meters, which broke the school record, was unable to clear the next height of 1.64 meters, with three other jumpers also going out at that height.
The winning jump, by Ohio Northern's Avery Baker-Schlendering, was 1.79 meters.
The weekend was a great experience for Alexander, who dominated the season in the conference in the high jump, setting the school record and winning both the indoor and outdoor championships. She'll look to build upon her standout season, and her performance represents the final Golden Tornado in action for the 2025-26 school year.
