BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) announced its baseball postseason honors Wednesday evening on the PAC Sports Network's All-PAC Baseball Selection show, and three Golden Tornadoes were recognized on one of the three all-conference teams. Senior designated hitter/first baseman
Kirk Bearjar was named to the All-PAC First Team, while juniors
Jason Triscila and
Kaden Peeples received Honorable Mention All-PAC honors, Triscila for both his pitching and his play in right field and Peeples for his standout season out of the bullpen.
This is the first time Bearjar has received First Team recognition in his career, and the first time he has received an all-conference award since his sophomore season. He finished the spring with a .375 batting average, highest on the team and tenth in the PAC, and he batted an extremely impressive .402 in conference play, getting very hot at the plate down the stretch of the season. The senior drove in a team-best 30 RBIs, hitting five home runs, 14 doubles, and a triple as well. He slugged .603 on the season, seventh-best in the PAC, and he finished out the year with 16 hits in his final nine games.
Triscila was both one of the top starters on the mound for Geneva and a regular in right field. He went 3-6 across ten appearances on the bump for the GTs, striking out a team-best 49 batters and finishing with a 5.56 ERA. He also batted .371 at the plate, the second-best mark on the team, with 26 hits and 15 runs scored.
Peeples emerged as one of the top relievers in the PAC in his second season at Geneva, leading the conference with seven saves. He posted an impressive 2.08 ERA through 17.1 innings pitched, making 14 appearances, all in relief. The junior struck out 20 batters while walking just five, giving him an excellent 10.53 strikeouts per nine innings.
Following the announcement of the All-PAC teams, the conference also released its PAC Sportsmanship Team, comprised of one athlete from each school. Geneva's representative was sophomore infielder
Colin McCrone, who showed commitment to the program in his first year with the team and developed into a leader for the Golden Tornadoes both on and off the field.
