WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Geneva College men's golf team split a pair of matches against Waynesburg on Tuesday afternoon at the Greene County Country Club. Geneva's first group dropped its match 337 to 345. Geneva's second group won 380 to 403.
Freshman
Parker Cera (Titusville, Fla./Titusville) led the first group with an 83, while freshman
Joshua Hido (Kent, Ohio/Theodore Roosevelt) wasn't far behind with an 85. Sophomore
Jacob DeLisio (New Brighton, Pa./New Brighton) carded an 87, and freshman
Michael DeMiere (Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) finished with a 90. Senior
Trent Belleville (Washington, Pa./McGuffey) was also in that group and shot a 92.
In Geneva's second group,
Timothy Ehko (Greencastle, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim) led the way with a 90. Senior
Brady Corklin (Titusville, Pa./Titusville) shot a 93, with freshman
Brenden Connolly (Hull, Mass./South Shore Vocational Technical) finishing with a 96. Junior
Ryan Signorella (Brackenridge, Pa./Highlands) rounded out the group with a 101.
"I'm disappointed with the loss in the first group, but I thought we improved in some areas of the game," said Head Coach
Andrew Fee. "We need to continue to get better as we near October. We had 11 double bogeys and five triple bogeys today in the round, which is not acceptable."
Geneva is back on the course tomorrow with a match against Thiel at Avalon at Buhl Country Club, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
