WHEELING, W. Va. – Members of both the men's and women's golf teams competed for Geneva at the Bethany Spring Invitational Thursday afternoon, hosted at Oglebay Park Resort in West Virginia. Junior
Ryan Edwards was the top finisher for both sides, placing third overall for the men. As a group, the Geneva men took fifth place out of seven teams, while the women competed only as individuals.
Edwards carded a team-high 77 to claim third overall at the Invitational, just two strokes out of first place. It was the third consecutive round in which he has shot a 77, showing remarkable consistency to start the spring semester. Junior
Owen Bouscher was the next-best golfer for the men, tying for 15
th overall with a score of 87. Senior
Austin Goehring and junior
Samuel Palombia rounded out the top four for the GTs by shooting 91 and 98, respectively.
On the women's side, junior
Sydney Peasley and senior
Marissa Winland competed as individuals for the Golden Tornadoes at the Invitational. Of the two, Peasley had the top score, carding 126.
The women will compete next in the Westminster Invitational, scheduled for this Saturday, April 11. After that, both the men's and women's teams will participate in W&J's Peter C. Rossin Memorial Invitational the following Monday, April 13.
